HighFinesse LWA

Linewidth analyzer
High resolution lineshape spectra, phase noise and frequency noise analyzer for narrowband lasers. Our LWA is a high-end optical instrument for measuring and analyzing frequency and phase noise of lasers in real time. With a bandwidth from 10Hz to 10MHz the LWAs offer deep insights into the frequency noise characteristics of various laser sources. Real time analysis offers the possibility to directly monitor the effects of environmental conditions or control loops.

Your Benefits

High resolution lineshape spectra
Measuring and analyzing frequency noise and phase noise of lasers in real time. With a bandwidth from 10Hz to 10MHz the LWAs offer deep insights into the frequency noise characteristics of various laser sources. Real time analysis offers the possibility to directly monitor the effects of environmental conditions or control loops.
Both at once: frequency noise and phase noise
In contrast to other methods, the LWA provides the capabilities to measure the frequency and or phase noise density spectrum. This gives insight into how the laser frequency noise at different timescales instead of just showing the optical spectrum. This enables you to improve your laser design.
Optical spectrum calculation (lineshape)
The LWA provides the capabilities to measure the (relative) optical spectrum without the downsides of outdated technology like delay lines possibly having artifacts in the spectrum due to coherence after the delay path.
Real-time laser analysis

Measurements and corresponding analysis are automatically updated and calculated in real time. This enables to investigate how environmental changes affect your laser frequency noise.

Measure very narrow lasers
The optics and electronics of the LWA are carefully designed to offer a low instrument noise floor, providing the possibility to measure even very narrow line lasers, down to 350 Hz (for LWA-1k 1550).
