DL pro
Tunable external cavity diode lasers for cooling and controlling all atoms and ions
- Intelligent locking to absorption lines or HighFinesse wavelength meters
- Convenient local and remote operation (with DLC pro)
- Efficient atom cooling with narrow linewidth down to 0.6 kHz free running
- Linewidth below 1 Hz possible with lock to external reference cavity on selected wavelengths
The DL pro is a reliable ECDL laser for almost all wavelengths between 369 nm and 1770 nm. With power up to 400 mW and free running linewidth down to 0.6 kHz, the DL pro is a proven solution for most QT applications. Its digital controller allows a stable performance, the GUI making remote access easy, which is very convenient when the DL pro rack version is requested. It is fully compatible with the extensive TOPTICA portfolio of tunable diode lasers, driving electronics, software and accessories.
DL pro
The lab standard for cooling and controlling all atoms and ions
The DL pro is the lab standard for all atoms and ions. For quantum experiments and applications the DL pro offers a plug and play laser. The system has a long legacy in laboratories and quantum companies worldwide. Wavelengths for all important atoms and ions are available, as well as the possibility to upgrade your system later, e.g. with our FALC pro fast laser locking module for linewidth narrowing. Up to 4 lasers can be operated with one DLC pro laser controller.
DL pro HP
Ideal for power hungry atoms and ions
The high power variant of the established DL pro features a special resonator design, which allows for higher output powers from laser diodes in the visible range. Like the DL pro, it features various modulation inputs and may be equipped with various options like fiber coupling, beam shaping etc. The DL pro HP is ideal for power hungry atom and ion trapping and cooling applications. For example, the Strontium transition at 461 nm can be addressed with more than 400 mW of power after optical isolator.
DL pro F
Superb locking performance for clock transitions
With the DL pro F locking is faster than ever, laying the foundation for the next generation quantum technology. The F variant of our DL pro features an intra-cavity EOM which provides two feedback channels. One is used for fast adjustments to ensure the superb locking performance, the other guarantees the high robustness of the lock. One of many applications is addressing the Ca+ clock transition at 729 nm, while reducing the phase noise around the carrier.
DL pro SMC
The care-free laser system for quantum computing offers extended active mode stability thanks to the new SAFE feature. It saves settling time in experiments and makes commercial quantum computers resistant to mode hopping. The available wavelength range extends to the blue spectral region.
DL pro BFY
Withstanding pressure fluctuations, ideal for transportable systems
The hermetically sealed butterfly package and the compact design of the resonator allow for the best passive mode stability and robustness within the DL pro family. It is especially suitable for applications where a care-free operation of the lasers is required. It can even run as an outdoor system, equipped with temperature stabilization, to withstand massive winds and pressure fluctuations.

Options
Narrow linewidth
With this option DL pro laser systems are optimized for narrow linewidths. It is also suited for seed lasers of TA or NLO systems as well as lasers of Laser Rack Systems but not for DL pro HP lasers. DL pro F lasers are always optimized for a narrow linewidth. Fiber Delivery
Fiber Delivery (FD) is optionally available with TOPTICA's patented fiber coupler FiberDock and a suitable polarization maintaining (PM) fiber. FiberDock provides highest single-mode fiber coupling efficiencies, easy alignment and at the same time highest stability.
For most lasers, we specify a PER behind fiber of >20 dB with our Fiber Delivery option. Please also inquire about Long Life and High Power fibers as well as fiber splitters. Optical isolation is mandatory for fiber coupled diode laser systems.Optical Isolation
Isolators are used to protect the laser diode against back reflections. This not only prevents damage to the diode but also ensures untroubled tuning and single-frequency operation. Fiber-coupling with angle-polished fibers (both ends) requires at least a single-stage isolator (> 30 dB). Double-stage isolators are needed if reflections from the experiment into the laser are expected. Fiber-coupling with non-angle-polished fibers also requires a double-stage isolator (> 60 dB). Beam Shaping
To shape elliptical laser beams into round profiles, either an anamorphic prism pair (APP) or cylindrical lenses are used. The compression ratio is set at the factory. Motorization
The motorization of the coarse tuning offers manual control and operation via software interface. This option is available for most DL pro laser systems (most AR laser diodes and some FP diodes) including DL pro HP laser systems but not for DL pro F systems. See Downloads section below. Bias-T
The DL pro (HP) has two modulation inputs that allow current modulation frequencies of up to 150 MHz. A Bias-T allows even higher current modulation frequencies of up to several GHz, depending on the diode. It is also suited for seed lasers of TA or NLO systems. This option is not available for DL pro F systems. Electronics Modules A broad variety of electronic locking modules is available for frequency stabilization. -
